Last year I was invited by a friend , my new friend Julia, to her grandmother’s birthday. I was looking forward to the party and I didn’t know what to buy as a gift, so I asked my mother to buy it. We bought some beautiful flowers and I wrote a birthday card.
At night my friend Julia and her family, her parents and her brother, came to pick me up, I was going into the car with the flowers, when Julia said: - These flowers are so beautiful! Are they for me?
- No, they are for your grandmother.- I answered.
- Everybody in the car started looking at me with a bewildered look, I didn’t understand, but we carried on . When I arrived at the house I started looking for Julia’s grandmother to give her gift, the flowers. But everybody began to come close to Julia and congratulate her and they gave gifts to her. I thought very strange, but after I understood that it wasn’t Julia’s grandmother´s party but it was Julia’s party, in her grandmother’s house. I started to feel very nervous and I didn’t know what do , so I said to Julia:
I was joking with you, these flowers aren’t for your grandmother, they are for you. Congratulations!
She picked the flowers, and saw the birthday card and read out loud:
-Ms. Joana, congratulations for your birthday. I hope that you like the flowers, so everybody burst out laughing. I wanted die!

Haha, what a embarrassing moment dear. Well , I don't know what I would do if I were you, but you found an almost good way to turn that around. But I hope she forgot it.
